It’s almost time to kick off the fall season with Greenville’s beloved ninth annual Camellia City Fest on Sept. 9. The event promises plenty of festival food, live musical entertainment, unique vendors, and fun children activities.
Tracy Salter, Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce (GACOC) executive director, said the festival has something to offer everyone.
“Camellia City Fest is a wonderful, family-friendly event that offers something for everyone,” Salter said. “Some of our vendors have been with us in years past, and for others, this is their first event at City Fest.
The festival includes everything from handcrafted jewelry, custom woodwork and leather products, to home and yard décor and homemade jams and jellies, just to name a few, Salter explained.
“There will be a kids zone area including jumpy houses, face painting, lawn games and a balloon artist,” she said
The event takes place in downtown Greenville from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendors will line the sidewalk areas of Commerce Street between the intersections of Pine and Commerce to Church and Commerce streets.
Chapman Simmons, owner of Camellia Sweet Treats, said he is excited to be a vendor this year.
“We are super excited to be a part of city fest this year,” Simmons said. “We will have our trailer setup and will be selling hot dogs, drinks and shaved ice of course. It’s going to be a great day of fun for everyone and I encourage other communities outside of Greenville to stop by and see what we’re all about!”
Amy Piper, a local who has been a City Fest vendor for years, will offer creative home decor to festival shoppers.
“We enjoy City Fest every year and have been vendors the past two years,” Piper said. “It’s great to live in a community that is so friendly and huge into supporting the arts. There will be vendors with every kind of artwork from paintings, wood crafts, jewelry and even food. It’s an incredible family fun event we look forward to every year!”
The Camellia City Fest is presented by the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Greenville. The Chamber encourages everyone attending the event to practice social distancing and wants attendees to know there will be hand sanitizing stations on site throughout the festival area.
The vendor application deadline is Aug. 28. For more information, contact the GACOC at (334) 382-3251 or visit online at www.greenvillealchamber.com.
