It has become an annual end-of-the-summer celebration: Star Wars Day returns to the Greenville-Butler County Public Library! This year marks the 9th time the library has celebrated the “galaxy far, far, away.” The event starts at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 12. A variety of activities are planned, including Star Wars crafts, snacks, and prizes.

“We have lots of prizes to give away and, of course, we’ll be spotlighting our Star Wars collection of books and movies that will be available for check out,” said Library Director Kevin Pearcey.

Star Wars Day caps off what has been an eventful two months, said Pearcey, with hundreds of children and parents participating in summer activities. The event is free to the public. For more information call (334) 382-3216.
