The Butler County Humane Society met July 12 and discussed recent activity towards the group’s overall mission to spay or neuter every dog and cat in the county. The group meets the second Wednesday of each month at Cambrian Ridge at noon for a “Dutch treat” lunch. At the July 12 gathering the group discussed 16 cats and four dogs, four dogs were sent to a Georgia rescue, and 62 animals came in and out and were reclaimed, transferred, or adopted. Orientation for Junior Humane Society members is planned for July 29 at St. Thomas Episcopal church at 10 a.m. All are welcome to join the society. No dues are collected.
