The Butler-Greenville Public Library has announced its Summer Reading initiative and schedule. This year’s theme is “All Together Now,” and includes several free programs as well as reading with Mr. Johnathan Grace.
Library Director, Kevin Pearcy said, “The library is really the area’s “best kept secret,” and we invite everyone to get your children and grandchildren involved. The library has so much to offer.”
The library’s offerings have been expanding over the last couple of years, and there’s no shortage of entertainment for school-age children. The purpose of these programs is to continue the learning process even when school is out.
On June 27, the library will host Animal Tales at 2:00 p.m.
“Kids love animals, and this is a great opportunity for them to engage with live, exotic animals in a safe learning environment,” Pearcy said.
On June 29 at 2:00 p.m. the library will turn up the fun with a Trolls themed party.
Greenville resident Cassandra Mickles, enjoys taking her son Chester to the library often.
“They are doing a great job. My son loves the activities, crafts, and learning experiences. I encourage all parents to take their children to the library and to get a library card, for not only the summer, but all year round,” she said.
Summer Reading with Mr. Johnathan will begin with a kickoff party on July 6 at 2:00 p.m. and sessions begin Tuesday, July 11.
Ages and Session Times are as followed:
- Toddler to Age 4 (Tuesdays at 10 a.m.)
- K5 to 1st grade (Tuesdays at 2 p.m.)
- 2nd to 3rd grade (Thursdays at 10 a.m.)
- 4th to 5th grade (Thursdays at 2 p.m.)
