Bright Beginnings Pre-K classes got a surprise on Valentine’s Day when the Family Dollar store in Greenville donated several styles of special Valentine’s Day balloons.
Teachers Laken Shrader, Kay Armstrong, and Lynn Brady, stopped into the Family Dollar Store and picked up giant bundles of donated balloons for the students.
Litta Norris, Pre-K Director with the Butler County School System, said she was as excited as the children.
“It was very nice of them to do this for us,” Norris said.
The kids were happily surprised by the balloons when teachers walked into their classes with the bundles and the student’s Valentine’s Day celebration was made even more special because of the generosity of the local store.
De’Ajah Kelly, daughter of Estelle Kelly, said “I’m so happy it’s Valentine’s day!”
Other Pre-K students echoed her enthusiasm.
Teachers served special treats to students who gathered into groups around their tiny tables to sit down and enjoy the festive occasion.
Student Lena Schofield, daughter of Robbie and Sheyenne Schofield said, “It was the best day ever!”
Teachers said the grins and giggles of the children were certainly worth the efforts which made classrooms exciting and fun for all the day’s events.
Freddy Nelson, son of Joni and Richard Capers, summed up the day when he said, “I had so much fun today!”
Although Family Dollar could not comment due to a media clause, store representatives said they were happy to donate the balloons to the Pre-K classes, helping to make the special Valentine’s Day celebrations even more special.
Family Dollar Store is located at 217 Cedar St. in Greenville. The number there is (334) 525-6038.
