ProShield window tinting officially opened its doors Monday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held Monday at 326 Greenville Bypass.
Mayor Dexter McLendon, joined by several members of the community, was on hand to officially cut the ribbon alongside ProShield owners Hunter and Sumer Posey.
Posey brings four years of experience within the field as he owned a window-tinting business near the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Posey went on to work for someone else and did tinting on the side.
“But I ended up making more money doing this,” Posey said.
Posey worked to perfect his technique and decided to give running a tinting business full-time another try.
“On a car, it takes about an hour, hour and a half to tint the windows,” he said.
He added he’s eager to provide a service to the community.
“As soon as people see the sign, they start pulling in,” Posey said. “A lot of people need it around here … Nobody around here really does it.”
