Pioneer Electric Cooperative announced today that Fort Dale Academy graduating senior Kinley Woodard has been awarded one of two $1,000 Electric Cooperative Foundation scholarships. Graduating high school seniors served by the cooperative are eligible to compete for the scholarships.

Woodard is her class vice president, president of the National Honor Society, and is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Senior Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Government Association, Key Club and Experiencing Community by Helping Others. She plays softball, served as the basketball team captain, and served as co-captain of her cheerleading team. She also serves as a Camellia Girl for the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce. She plans to attend Auburn University, where she will major in biomedical studies.

We have outstanding students in our service area, and we are honored to support them in achieving their academic goals.”

The Electric Cooperative Foundation was formed by rural electric cooperatives throughout Alabama to give back to communities in the form of scholarships for qualifying high school seniors. This year, 21 applications from Pioneer Electric’s students were evaluated by an independent Electric Cooperative Foundation selection committee. Since its founding, the Foundation has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships.
