Greenville Police Department’s’ narcotics and tracking canine Tobi will soon receive a bullet and stab-proof vest thanks to Vested Interest in K9s Inc donation.
Mark Riccardi of Monument Colorado sponsors the vest.
It will be embroidered with “This gift of protection provided by Rocky.”
Tobi’s vest was provided by a non-profit organization called Vested Interest in K9s Inc.
Its mission is to provide bullet and stab-resistant vests to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies across the country.
Since 2009 Vested Interest in K9s has donated nearly 4,500 K9 ballistic vests.
Additionally, they have provided $93,000 in K9 first aid kits and more than $218,000 of K9 medical insurance premiums through their Healthcare for K9 Heroes program.
Tobi will receive their vest in approximately eight to ten weeks.
