Eagles stomped by Bessemer Rebels

The Fort Dale Eagles lose to the Bessemer Rebels during Friday’s conference away game with a final score of 42-14.
The Eagles scored first when Ethan Alford threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to Alan Alverez with under two minutes to go in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, an intercepted pass by Rebels wide receiver JT Davis set up the Rebels at the Fort Dale 29-yard line.
From there, the Rebel offense ran the ball to a first and goal at the seven-yard line, where Rebels quarterback Jayden Fennell secured the touchdown.
The Rebels would go on to score two additional touchdowns in the second quarter.
At halftime, the Rebels led the Eagles 20-7.
During the third quarter, an interception near the Fort Dale 27-yard line allowed Rebels running back Samad Muhammad to extend the Rebels lead.
The Rebels would score again over the Eagles after Muhammad ran for a one-yard rushing touchdown on fourth and goal.
With one minute left before the fourth quarter, the Rebels punted away to the Eagles at the one-yard line.
Shortly after, the Rebels were able to secure a safety.
In the fourth quarter, Rebels running back Evan Cochran secured their final touchdown of the night after a nearly 40-yard rushing touchdown.
With five minutes left in regulation, Eagles running back Brady Long secured the Eagle’s second touchdown of the night with a 10-yard run.
The Eagles now sit at 2-6 for the season.
Fort Dale will face off against Morgan Academy at home in Friday’s regional matchup.
