McKenzie beats Kinston

The McKenzie Tigers beat the Kinston Bulldogs during Friday’s conference home game.
Kinston kicked off to the Tigers to start the first quarter, where the Tigers received the ball at the42-yard line.
McKenzie running back Kamern “Bo” Daniels made the first score of the night after a short two-yard touchdown with five minutes left in the first quarter.
Moments later, Kinston responded with a touchdown of their own and the first quarter ended with a tied game 7-7.
An onside kick by Kinston allowed them to recover the ball, but the pressure from the McKenzie defense prevented them from scoring.
McKenzie took the lead shortly after getting control of the ball thanks to a 54-yard rushing touchdown by Daniels.
By halftime, the Tigers were leading the Bulldogs 14-7.
McKenzie kicked off to Kinston to start the second half.
Kinston started their drive at the 26-yard line, but couldn’t make the first down.
McKenzie received the ball at their 42-yard line after the punt. Daniels ran the ball for 27-yards for a McKenzie first down.
After getting the ball down to the 15-yard line, McKenzie running back Tray Rudolph extended the team’s lead after a touchdown. Missing the extra point, the Tigers led the Bulldogs 20-7.
Throughout the remainder of the third quarter, the McKenzie defense successfully held off the Kinston offense.
By the start of the fourth quarter, McKenzie was still leading Kinston 20-7.
Daniels scored again for the Tigers with eight minutes left in the fourth after a 77-yard rushing touchdown. McKenzie went for a two-point conversion but was unsuccessful.
With under a minute left in the game, the Bulldogs managed to score their second touchdown of the night and a successful two-point conversion.
The game ended with a win for the Tigers and a final score of 26-15.
McKenzie will face off against Florala in an away game this Friday.
