**UPDATE** Sheriff Bond confirmed at 7:54 p.m. that I-65 will remained closed for an indeterminate amount of time, but for at least several more hours. There are several injuries and there are fatalities. Names will not be released until families are notified. Please avoid the area of Highway 31 if possible as it is being used for detour at this time.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office has announced the closure of I-65 north and southbound due to a major accident involving several vehicles near the 138 mile marker.

Please stay off of Highway 31 if possible. It is being used as a detour route for the interstate at this time.
