During the recent Butler County Board of Education meeting, a ceremony recognizing the Butler County Teachers of the Year, as well as members of the Greenville Middle School and Greenville High school All State and Honors Band, occurred.

The following teachers were recognized during the meeting:

• Christina Brumbeloe- WO Palmer teacher of the year
• Patricia Cook – McKenzie Elementary School teacher of the year – butler county teacher of the year
• Della Dillard – Greenville Middle School teacher of the year
• Jessica Morgan – Georgina School Elementary teacher of the year
• Ashley Simmons -Greenville Elementary School teacher of the Year
• Carlton Edwards- Georgina school secondary teacher of the year –
• Ryan McNaughton – McKenzie school secondary teacher of the year
• Naomi Pryor – Greenville high school teacher of the year – butler county secondary teacher of the year

In other business the board:

• Approved the use of Kelly Services for substitute teachers and substitute support personnel staffing
• Agreed to the extension of the back to school guidelines for the remainder of the 2020/2021 schools year
• Approved Schneider Electric for energy savings contracting services
• Extended the Principal contracts for Georgiana, McKenzie, and Greenville Highschool
