A first responder appreciation event was held Friday, March 5 in downtown Luverne. Sherry Prevett and Karen Humphrey hosted the event located at 13 on Fifth Antiques and Collectibles.
“It was a perfect evening for refreshments, chit chat and a laugh or two, however, the main objective was to say thank you to the first responders, and we did just that,” Prevett said.
Lemonade and snacks were provided as well as a small treat bag donated by Christy Johnson.
Daniel Jones from Luverne police department was on duty but did take time to cruise by. He was greeted with a big thank you as well as a treat bag, which brought a smile to his face. The game & fish enforcement vehicle also stopped by as did Crenshaw County narcotics officers with Bella, who managed to sniffed out a few treats.
“It was an exciting evening, warm hearts and smiling faces,” Prevett said about the event.
