Honoraville Fire Department responds to structure fire

Honoraville Fire Department was dispatched by 911 just after 11 am Monday to a single story structure fire at 2081 Posey Road, Lapine. Highland Home Fire Department was requested to assist at 11:31 am. The firemen were able to make entry into the structure and gained control of the fire within approximately five minutes time. Honoraville and Highland Home tankers supplied water to the trucks.
“We arrived to assist Honoraville with a garage/shed structure fire. We were able to get in and put the fire out within a few minutes,” Assistant Chief Stephen Wilson, Highland Home Fire and Rescue, said.
The Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Department provided traffic assistance. Luverne rescue was also on scene to assist if and when needed.
Homeowner Kathy Hewitt was at work when the fire occurred. A neighbor passing by saw the blaze.
