The Georgiana Lady Panthers out maneuvered the Brantley Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday evening in the Area Tournament held in Georgiana, Alabama. With a final score of 45-73, the Bulldogs were sent home.
With only seven players in the game, Brantley played hard and left it all on the court. The Lady Bulldogs overcame many obstacles to even make the tournament game. Due to COVID-19, players have been unable to attend practice. Last weeks game had to be forfeited due to not enough players.
Georgiana came out strong with 13 players and were relentless in scoring. The Lady Panthers had double digit scoring each period. Georgiana added 25 points in the third period alone.
“Good teams find a way and we were willing to run there. I thought our girls played extremely hard for the most part,” Panthers’ Coach Norris said. “The most important thing is we found a way to win and get to advance on in the playoffs.”
Michaiah Austin led the Lady Panthers with a total score of 14. De’keyah Peterson followed with 11 points for Georgiana.
Gabby Perkins and Kayden Dunn both brought 15 points each for the Bulldogs.
The Lady Panthers will advance to play Red Level or JF Shields Thursday, 10, at Georgiana for the Area Championship.
