Both the Georgiana Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls basketball teams took on Hillcrest Evergreen last Thursday

The games, which took place Feb. 4, saw both the varsity boys and varsity girls win against Hillcrest. Below is a recap of both games.

Varsity Boys

The Georgiana varsity boys defeated Hillcrest 71-55. Azenda Pennington was the lead scorer for Georgiana with 17 points and 11 assists followed by Amari Feagin with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Nacardyen Ball scored 14. Zack Boggan scored 11 and Tydarius Mobley scored 10 points. This win puts Varsity Boys at 14-9 for the season.

Varsity Girls

The Georgiana Varsity Girls narrowly defeated Hillcrest 48-44. Tenasia Gordon was the lead scorer for Georgiana with 18 points as well as 9 rebounds and 5 blocks followed by Ashante Marshall with 12 points. Alexea Bess scored 10 points and 14 rebounds. The win puts the Varsity Girls at 13-10 for the season.
