Mrs. Mary Frances Eiland, 86, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Luverne Health & Rehabilitation on Monday, February 1, 2021. A graveside service for Mrs. Eiland was held at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 3rd, in Rutledge Cemetery with Brother Jason Holladay officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mrs. Eiland spent her working career as an administrative assistant to the administrator for the local hospital and several doctors in town. She loved to travel in her spare time, taking many bus tours with her husband. She was a long time member of New Harmony Baptist Church and sang with their choir. She was also a fabulous cook and took pride in hosting Sunday dinners for her family every week. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She dedicated her life to her family and they loved her dearly. Her loved ones will miss her terribly, but they rejoice that she has been reunited with her husband and daughter, safe in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Eiland was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Eiland Jr; their daughter, Diane E. Hoffman; parents, Jim Kendrick & Ethel Mae Stephenson Tomlin; and two siblings, Joseph Tomberlin & Elizabeth Broderway.
