Five arrested on multiple drug charges

Five people are behind bars after being arrested on multiple drug charges and chemical endangerment of a child on Thursday.

Multiple suspects were arrested Thursday morning following a search warrant executed by the Greenville Police Department’s Special Response Team for the Drug Task Force.

According to reports, the warrant, which occurred at a residence on Primitive Baptist Road found weapons and illegal drugs at the residence. The five occupants of the residence were arrested and charged with multiple charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana second-degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, and chemical endangerment of a child.

The suspects, identified as 51-year old Bobby Connell, 41-year old Virginia Scott, 29-year old Connor McCann, 20-year old Christian Connell, and 20-year old Justice Basom were transported to the county jail.

Greenville Police Chief Justin Lovvorn commended the Drug Task Force and the Special Response Team on their response to executing the warrant.

“I would like to commend the Drug Task Force and the Special Response Team for their continued efforts to keep the citizens of Greenville and Butler County safe from these types of harmful and destructive illegal narcotics,” he said.
