The Butler County Sheriff’s Posse had a successful annual fundraiser for Safe Harbor, raising around $13,000 in toys and donations.
While COVID-19 challenged fundraising for the project, the Posse was able to raise the same amount of money it raised last year.
“We would like to thank the citizens of Butler County and the surrounding counties that gave on Nov. 14 and Nov. 28,” said Posse Director Charles Thomas.
Thomas said the posse would also like to take the time to thank the businesses that also donated to make this event happen.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience that we may have caused, but it was worth all of it for the kids,” he said.
Businesses who participated are Camellia Collision Center, Top to Bottom Paint and Body, Heath Hendrick Motor Co., ASE Credit Union, Custom Clocks, Purvis Signs, First Assembly of God, Express Roofing, Better ATV and Auto, C&K Auto, Walmart.
“We would also like to thank the Dollar General stores and Tractor Supply for letting us place collection boxes in their businesses this time of year,” he said. “We also want to thank the convenience stores for putting in the buckets.”
This is the fourth year the Posse has worked with Safe Harbor.
“We hope this will continue for many years to come,” he said.
