Luverne Police investigating shooting, seek more info
A Montgomery teenager is behind bars after allegedly shooting a local male earlier this month, and police are looking for more details about the shooting.
Luverne Police Chief Mike Johnson said that on Sunday, Oct. 18, around 12:30 a.m., Crenshaw Community Hospital officials reported to the LPD they were treating a male patient in the emergency room who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Johnson said that officers were able to speak to the victim before he was transferred to another facility for further treatment.
It was determined that the victim was shot at a residence in Luverne.
Officers developed 18-year-old Romello Armon Cobb as the key suspect in the investigation.
Johnson said that warrants for Cobb’s arrest were obtained and he was subsequently charged with assault first-degree and attempted murder.
He was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on Friday, Oct. 23 without incident.
Investigators continue to work this case and anyone with details are asked to contact Sgt. John Powell with the LPD at 334-335-2406 or call the E911 Center at 334-335-4831. Those with information may remain anonymous.
