Crenshaw County’s high school football teams are gearing up to get back to the Gridiron.
Last week, Luverne Varsity defeated Blacksher 49-19 at their season opener at Glenn Daniel Stadium. Highland Home lost to Maplesville by one touchdown, but are hoping to turn the season around with this week’s game. Brantley’s game against G.W. Long was called due to lightning, but the Bulldogs were up 7-0 when it was called.
Rival schools Luverne and Brantley will face each other this week.
Last year, the Tigers defeated Brantley 47-14 and won the 2A Class Region 3 Championship, while the Bulldogs won the Class 1A Region 2 Championship and set a team record by scoring 72 points in a game against Fruitdale.
Here are the list of this week’s games for Crenshaw County:
- Crenshaw Christian Academy at Pike Liberal Arts
- Luverne at Brantley
- Highland Home vs Alabama Christian Academy at Home
They will each start at 7 p.m.
