Mr. James Craig Luster, 58, a resident of Dozier, Alabama, passed away in his home on Saturday, August 15, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. A graveside service for Mr. Luster was held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 19, in Macedonia Cemetery with Rev. Amos Grayson officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Luster was an accomplished jack of all trades. He was capable of doing anything he set his mind to, and, if he initially didn’t know how, it was guaranteed that he could figure it out. Those skills certainly came in handy in his work as a general contractor for construction sites. His job fit his personality, as he loved doing anything outdoors. In his free time, he loved farming and raising cattle. He also enjoyed cheering on his favorite football team, the Alabama Crimson Tide. While his children were in school, you could always find him in attendance at any event they participated in. Above all, his family owned his complete heart, and he was a devoted husband, father, and brother at all times. He was adored by them in return, and they are comforted by all of the cherished memories they shared with him over the years.
Mr. Luster was preceded in death by his parents, Jim & Lorene Davenport Luster. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Denise Berry Luster; their two children, James Matthew Luster and Billie Nicole Luster; & two brothers, Murray (Julie) Luster and Steve Luster.
Active pallbearers were Matthew Luster, Greg Jones, Gavin Mckenzie, Trey Dillon, Will Moses, and Joshua Hinton.
A memorial service and fellowship immediately followed the service in Macedonia Methodist Church.
