James Barry Lassiter, age 61 of Minter Alabama passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.

Services were held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Braggs Cemetery with brother Elwood Sim, Brother Steve Stephens, and Brother Jim Frees officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Lassiter is preceded in death by his father, James Rayford Lassiter and son, James Brandon Lassiter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Amanda Strickland Lassiter of Braggs, AL; mother, Mary Sue (Polly) Post Lassiter of Montgomery, AL; son, Jason Garner (Shae) Lassiter of Tallassee, AL; step sons, John Henry Weisbecker SSGT USAF of Tuscan, AZ, Michael Leo Weisbecker of Converse, TX; grandchildren, Dylan Lassiter, Hayden Lassiter, Denver Guthrey, Tannyth Brock, Annie Brock, Piper Brock; brother, Bart (Liz) Lassiter of Tallassee, AL.

Mr. Lassiter was a 1977 graduate of Hooper Academy and a member of Catoma Baptist Church of Montgomery, AL. He was employed as a lineman for 39 years with Alabama Power Company and will forever be the beloved “Uncle Grumpy” to all of his nieces and nephews.
