A private graveside service with family was held on May 3, 2020, due to COVID-19 restrictions for Doris DeBellis, 89, who passed away of natural causes on Thursday, April 30, in Greenville. The Rev. Chase Clower from the First Baptist Church of Greenville officiated.

Her husband, LTC Frank DeBellis of the United States Army, who served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam; her parents, John “Daddy Mott” and Doris McQueen, and her sister, Carolyn Weeks, preceded Mrs. DeBellis, who was a loving mother and dedicated military wife.

Survivors include, children, Tony DeBellis (Ann) of Birmingham, Mike DeBellis of Chelsea and Mark DeBellis (Joy) of Auburn; grandchildren, Claire Meads (Jon), Anna Leigh DeBellis and Alexander Hooks; great granddaughter, Lydia Meads; sister, Sara Smith of Montgomery and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
