A family-only graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2020, at Pineville Cemetery for Mrs. Carolyn Branum Lloyd, 85, of Excel, who passed away on Tuesday, April 14. The Rev. Tom Lindsey and the Rev. Cleveland Brown officiated.
Mrs. Lloyd was a native of Greenville, but lived most of her life in Monroe County. She taught fifth-grade at Excel until her retirement, and was a member of Excel Baptist Church.
Her parents, Kermit Branum and Margurite Hickman Branum, and one brother, Charles Branum, preceded Mrs. Lloyd in death.
Survivors include, her husband, James Barto Lloyd Jr. of Excel; three sons, Randy (Kathy) Lloyd of Old Salem, Robbie (Carol) Lloyd of Excel and Bart (Lesley) Lloyd of Birmingham; daughter, Lisa Lloyd Parker of Pensacola, Fla.; sister, Elaine Branum Carr of Tuscaloosa; eight grandchildren, Matthew Lloyd, Brooke Lloyd Hinote, Allison Lloyd Carr-Smith, Emily Lloyd Zimmerman, Robin Lloyd, George Emory Lloyd, Branum Lloyd and John Bart Lloyd, and five great grandchildren, Hunter Hinote, Harper Lloyd, Ella Jo Carr, Deacon Carr and John Michael Zimmerman.
Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
