Ms. Tina Marie Combs, 56, a resident of Lapine, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.

Ms. Combs was born to Sylvester and Darlene Combs on August 15, 1963 in Lima, Ohio. She had a natural mothering instinct, which led her to help raise other children alongside her two sons, David and Josh. That instinct to take care of others would have led her to the medical field, but she discovered that she preferred veterinary medicine because the patients couldn’t talk back. She worked at the Snowdoun Animal Clinic for many years, and was truly fulfilled by her work there.

She became the “go-to” person for advice when people had questions about their “critters,” as she called them.

She had a heart of gold, but also a very straightforward personality. She was also a problem-solver, and, whatever it was, you could bet she would be able to take care of it. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Ms. Combs was preceded in death by her grandson, Gabriel James McQueen, and her father, Sylvester Combs. She is survived by her two sons, David Paul McQueen II (Caitlin Hutchens) and Joshua Dean Gonyea; two grandchildren, David Paul McQueen III and Sylvianna Grace McQueen; mother, Darlene H. Combs; three siblings, Kay Combs, Nicklous Lee Combs, and Daniel (Beverly) Combs; and 7 nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Grimsley, Nicklous Combs II, Kimberly Combs, Amanda Combs, Garret McQueen, Gabriel Johnson, and Little Daniel Combs.

The family held a private graveside service, and requests that any memorial donations be made to the Montgomery Cancer Center, 4145 Carmichael Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36106.
