Ms. Alma Alice Best, 75, a resident of Deatsville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020.
A graveside service was held for Ms. Best on Tuesday, Jan. 28, in Sardis Cemetery with Brother Jack Cates and Brother Bennie Boddie officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Ms. Best was an extremely proud graduate of Highland Home High School. After graduation, Ms. Best lived many years with her widowed mother in a mutually beneficial relationship. She adored her family, and she considered both her fellow members of Davenport church of Christ and Charlton Place Health Care Center as part of that family.
One of her favorite activities was playing bingo with her friends at the facility. She was definitely one of a kind, and leaves behind an enduring memory in the lives of those she touched. Despite limitations, Ms. Best lived as full a life as possible, and she will be sorely missed by the family and extended family she leaves behind.
Ms. Best was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Virtlean White Best, and two siblings, Melba Best Bradley and Billy Best. She is survived by her loving sister, Linda Best Musick; niece, Lindsey Musick Horne; two nephews, Marty Bradley and Cliff Musick; a very special great-nephew, R.J. Horne; and a number of other great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the excellent care Ms. Best received from Charlton Place, Comfort Care Hospice, and her beloved medical provider & dear friend, Dr. Hamp Greene.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Davenport church of Christ, P.O. Box 5, Hope Hull, Alabama 36043.
