Denny Lee “Trey” Strickland III, 18, a resident of Luverne, Alabama, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 29, 2019.

Funeral services for Trey will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, in the

gymnasium of Crenshaw Christian Academy with Rev. Derek Sowell and Rev. John Beasley officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Trey was always respectful, courteous, and kind-hearted, with a loving, generous soul.

He brought a touch of magic and joy to everyone he encountered.

He was full of life and able to see the best in everyone.

He loved people just as they were, and with his whole heart.

Trey was the best friend, classmate, teammate, son, grandson, and brother that he knew how to be.

His family considered him a true blessing from God.

There are no words fully capable of expressing how much he was loved, nor how deeply he will be missed.

Trey was preceded in death by his mother, Angelia Taylor Strickland.

He is survived by his parents, Denny Jr and Angel Strickland; four siblings, Dakota Warren Wright, Sadie Morgan Strickland, Savanna Nicole Strickland, and Carlie Marie Strickland; grandparents, Shelia Taylor, Denny Sr and Julia V. Strickland, and Steve Sr and Claudia Brooks; great-grandmother, Lou Ellen Conner; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Active pallbearers will be members of the Crenshaw Christian Academy Varsity Football team.

Honorary pallbearers will be his senior class.

The family will receive friends at the school on Saturday from 1 – 3 p.m.
