Mrs. Bettie Jean Cartwright Reeves, 72, a resident of Brantley, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019.
Funeral services for Mrs. Reeves were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, at Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant Home Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mrs. Reeves was a beloved member of the Beat 12 community near Brantley. She devoted much of her life to caring for others as an LPN. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by her parents, Drayford and Nettie Cartwright, and eight siblings, Cynthia Hartin, Linda Faye, Judy Cartwright, Oneal Cartwright, Donald Cartwright, Walter Cartwright, Terry Cartwright, and Ricky Cartwright. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Bobby Reeves; their five children, Teresa Walden, Sandra (Michael) Kolb, Michelle (Michael) Thebarge, Bobby (Christy) Reeves II, and Shana Feltz; twelve grandchildren, Paul Walden, Corey Walden, Matthew Walden, Tara Walden, Gabrielle Kolb, Aaron Kolb, Maira Thebarge, Michael Thebarge, Sam Reeves, Tyler Reeves, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Feltz, and Sarah Anne Feltz; twelve great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Bessie Mosley, Frances Basom, Jerry (Cindy) Cartwright, and Clarence (Corrine) Cartwright. Active pallbearers were Paul Walden, Matthew Walden, Sam Reeves, Tyler Reeves, Barry Reeves, and James Edwards.
