A Celebration of Life Service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday Dec. 31, 2018, from Antioch West Baptist Church for Thomas “Tommy” Eugene Plant, 73, of Greenville, who passed away on Friday, Dec. 28. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Masonic honors. The Rev. Watson Wasden officiated. A Gathering of Family and Friends was held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 30, at Johnson Funeral Home and Monday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

His mother, Beatrice Byrd Plant, and brother, Julius Gary Plant, preceded Mr. Plant in death.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie B. Plant of Greenville; daughters, Marie (Richard) Oswald and Lillian Snow, both of Greenville; sons, Luke (Lacey) Plant of Hope Mills, N.C. and Claude (Kimmie) Plant of Greenville; grandchildren, Charles Snow, Jason Snow, Hope (John) Etheridge, T.J. Oswald, Libby Oswald, Kyle Plant, Hannah, Audrey, Kaitlin, Luke Plant Jr, Christina Plant, Faeth Myrick-Plant, Lyli Myrick and Gracey Myrick; great grandchildren, Josh Etheridge, Maddie Etheridge, Bella Etheridge and Delilah Etheridge; sister-in-law, Judy Plant of Galax, Va.; niece, Ginny Plant and nephew, Jon Plant.
