Greenville Mayor Dexter McLendon officially proclaimed November as National Hospice Month Monday from his office at City Hall.
Several employees from Greenville Comfort Care Hospice joined McLendon as he signed the proclamation.
McLendon stated that last year, 1.4 million Americans living with life-limiting illnesses and their families, received care from hospice programs in communities throughout the United States. More than 400,000 trained volunteers contribute 18 million hours of service to hospice programs annually.
McLendon and the Comfort Care Hospice staff encourage all people to learn more about options of care and to share their wishes with family, loved ones and their healthcare professionals.
