Funeral services for the late Deacon Joe Daniels Jr. were held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 11:00 am from New Bethel Christian Church with Rev. Tommie Means, officiating.
Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery.
Hudson Funeral Services, Greenville, Alabama directed.
Joe Daniels, Jr. was the third child born to Joe Z. Zebedee Francis Daniels and Nishie Mae
Porter Daniels.
He was educated in the Butler County School System and was a farmer,
raising cotton and vegetables.
In 1951 he married the love of his life, Miss Katie Mae Sims, and they were
blessed with two children, Dianne and Walter.
Joe was baptized at an early age and remained an active church member at New Bethel Christian Church serving as a Sunday School Supt., Sunday School teacher, member of the Mass Choir and Men’s Chorus, Chaplain of the Deacon’s board and as a Deacon.
He was a member of the Willing Workers link #3 and The Seven Shape Singers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; all of his siblings Ruthie Mae, James Robert, Margaret, Minnie Lee and Willie James; his loving and devoted wife Katie Mae and son Walter.
The memories of his life will be cherished by his loving and devoted daughter, Dianne Jones; son-in-law, Tommy Jones (aka Bud) whom he referred to as his son; grandson, Tijuan Jones; granddaughter, Askisha Jones; great grand-children, Jaylon and Jaylah Jones; devoted nieces and nephews, Barbara Keys, Cheryl (R. Lenton Jr.) Buffalo, Cherry Hughes, Lloyd (Sharon) Bronner, Sharon Watts and Diana Garratt; brother and sister-in-laws, Mack (Mary) Herbert, and their offspring, Ollie (Juanita) Harris and their offspring, and Merline Sims and her offspring; devoted cousins, Jimmie Mae Frost, Leola Brown, Franklin Peterson, Sarah Gregory and a host of cousins and friends.
