The Fort Dale Eagles varsity baseball team took to the diamond Tuesday for a double header against the Hooper Colts and split decisions, losing the first game 4-2 and winning the second game 8-0.
The starting pitcher for the Eagles was Jackson Blackmon until he was relieved by Evan Clark. They held the Colts scoreless until the fourth inning, when they broke loose and put four runs on the board.
The Fort Dale scores were put on in the sixth inning by Luke Taylor and Braxton Daniels.
The second game was quite different for both teams, as the Colts could not control the Eagles and failed to score.
The second game pitcher flaunted Luke Taylor on the mound, and he held the Colts to only three hits for the game while the Eagles let loose at the plate and earned four runs in the first inning- coming off the bats of Davis Gaston, Luke Taylor, Braxton Daniels and Douglas Crews.
Two more in the third came from Taylor and Daniels.
One run in the fourth and another in the sixth from Zach Winters.
The win puts the Eagles at 19-7.
The team will be on the road on March 30, at Lowndes Academy and again on April 3 at Morgan Academy. They will be back at home on April 5, to take on Pike Academy.
