Answering a call to ministry, Aaron Miller is returning home to serve as the Student and Associate Pastor at Southside Baptist Church. A Greenville native, Miller graduated from Greenville High School in 2006. After high school he enlisted as active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard. “My time in the Coast Guard and the relationships I made throughout those 9 years made the biggest influence and impact on my life,” explained Miller. During this time, Miller formed relationships and grew tremendously as a person. “Getting to work closely with people from all over the country helped shape my worldview which is a large influence in my outlook on ministry,” said Miller. Graduating in 2010 from Troy University with a degree in Sports and Fitness Management, Miller began to feel a special call to ministry. Currently, Miller is enrolled at Liberty University Online in the Rawlings School of Divinity and will graduate in May with a Masters of Arts in Christian Ministry. The transition to Greenville will be very familiar to him since he currently is serving as a student intern at a local church in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Miller said, “I love getting to know students […] Being a part of students’ lives and helping them grow and mature as Christians is what I love most about ministry.” Miller and his wife, Katie, have four children: Matthew, Michael, Mason, and Marlee Kate. Looking forward to the new position, Miller said, “My wife and I are excited about what God has in store for Greenville, specifically the students at Southside Baptist Church.”
