Antonio Roper

Mr. Antonio “Young Rope” Roper, 28, a resident of Greenville, Ala., passed away on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 22 at noon at Mt. Ida Missionary Baptist Church, 160 Mount Road, Greenville, AL. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to the service. Pastor Michael A. Pouncey will be officiating with Carter Rice & West Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
On April 5, 1989, in Andalusia, Ala., the Lord blessed Anthony and Desireena Roper with their first of three children.
Antonio was an active member of Home Mission Masonic Lodge No. 125. He enjoyed shooting basketball and working on automobiles with his dad.
Antonio left his earthly home to go live in his eternal one on Dec. 15, 2017. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Sherman Theus.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories two children, A’miyah Roper and Ny’kevionna Bedgood; devoted parents Anthony and Desireena Roper; two siblings Kiara (Marcus) Bullock and Tremendes Roper, Greenville, AL; Grandparents Johnnie Mae Roper and Frank Burnett of Greenville, AL and Pearline (Samuel) Croskey of Georgiana, AL; 10 aunts, Rosalind (Jessie) Truitt of Birmingham, AL, Sandra Roper, Melissa Roper, Salina Theus, Bettye Croskey, Rebecca (Trevelle) Gregory, Cindy (Demetrius) Steele, Lynette Burnett, and Toni Burnett all of Greenville, AL., Lashonda Bedgood of Georgiana, AL.; seven uncles Curtis Shabazz, Tony (Alice) Roper, Justin Burnett, and Eric Burnett of Greenville, AL. Jessie Theus and Samuel Croskey II of Georgiana, AL, and Spencer (Trenessa) Burnett of Hampton, VA., and host of great- aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and friends.
