Robert (Bob) A. Huggins, 66, of St. Cloud, Fla., passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at St. Cloud Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service was held at Southside Baptist Church in Greenville, Alabama, on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at 1 p.m. The family received friends prior to the service.

Bob was born on Sept. 17, 1951 at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, Alabama. After some time, the family relocated to Orlando Fla., where he attended elementary school and was a member of Barton Shores Baptist Church. He graduated from Colonial High School in 1969 and immediately joined the United States Army where he was stationed in Northern Germany. He was married to Petra Haase on May 10, 1985 and remained in Germany where he worked with Merrill Lynch in Commodities.

After returning to the United States in 1993, he and his wife lived in Orlando, Fla. Later moved to St. Cloud, Florida.  Bob was a stay-at-home dad to Darby Marie for three years after her birth on April 15, 1997. He worked in the trucking industry until his health no longer allowed him to do so.

Bob enjoyed reading and fishing, but his main joy in life was being a dad to his beloved daughter and husband to Petra, his wife of 32 years.

He is preceded in death by his father, William M Huggins, and mother, Dorothy P. Huggins (Georgiana). He is survived by his wife Petra H. Huggins and daughter Darby Marie Huggins of St. Cloud Florida. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Don A. (Nicole) Huggins of Evergreen, Colorado; Ed A. (Pat) Huggins, of Adger, Alabama; Patricia H. (Barry) Ballew of Georgiana, Alabama, and Gayle H. (Carlos) Perez, of Adger, Alabama as well as many nieces and nephews.  Although Bob suffered from cancer for many years, he never gave up hope.
