With Christmas just around the corner, the McKenzie Quarterback Club is preparing to once again bring the community an opportunity to do some early gift shopping in a festive atmosphere.
The organization is hosting the McKenzie Holiday Market for the third straight year on Saturday, November 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the high school gymnasium. Admission is $2 with children under the age of five admitted free.
Attendees can expect a treasure trove of unique finds and taste-tempting treats, says Tori Norris of the MQC.
“We had over 30 vendors join us last year and we already have 17 lined up for this year, with more contacting me every day. We have everything from delicious baked goods and wonderful homemade crafts and original artwork to consultants from Thirty-One, Scentsy, KEEP Collective Jewelry, Lula Roe, MONAT, and much more,” Norris says.
“One of the vendors who has been with us since our first year is Willow Farms from Red Level, and they do shows all over the southeast. They offer honey, dips and jellies and preserves that people look forward to getting every year.”
Fun activities for the younger set are also planned, including giant inflatables.
“Our booth rental fees do go up after Oct. 31, so we encourage any prospective vendors to contact us early next week to save. We still have indoor spots available, ” Norris says.
The monies raised by the admission fees and booth rentals go in support of the McKenzie Quarterback Club, which today serves as a booster for the school’s entire athletic program, not just football. The event drew more than 200 attendees in 2016 and 2017 and organizers are hoping to see that number grow in 2018.
“The holiday market is a great way to support our students at McKenzie and to find some wonderful Christmas gifts, too,” says Norris.
