Authorities are searching for a pair men suspected in an armed robbery at a Dollar General located west of Greenville at the intersection of Kolb City Road and Pineapple Highway.
Butler County sheriff Kenny Harden said that two black males entered the store Sunday night at around 8:30 p.m. armed with guns.
“An undetermined amount of cash has been taken,” Harden said.
“No one was hurt.”
In addition to the clerk, at least two other shoppers were present at the time of the robbery.
Though the incident is similar to the robbery of a Dollar General in Highland Home that occurred Monday, Oct. 9, in which two black males are also suspected of robbing the store’s employees at gunpoint, Harden said that there are no known connections between the two robberies.
“Based on what we have seen, it looked like different people from who robbed the Dollar General in Highland Home,” said Harden of the Greenville-based location’s security footage.
Surveillance camera footage reveals a single image of two men, one in a red hoodie and the other in a white hoodie, entering the store.
On Monday, in the process of following a lead on the Dollar General robbery, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office charged two juveniles in an unrelated case with three counts of burglary, two counts of second-degree theft of property and third-degree theft of property.
The two robbery suspects are still at large.
“We’re asking if anyone has seen anything or has any knowledge of the robbery to contact the Butler County Sheriff’s Office at 334-382-6521,” Harden said.
