A dazzling display of pyrotechnics plus all the fun and games of an old-fashioned Fourth return to the Camellia City in July.
The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Greenville will once again co-host “Celebrate America” on Tuesday, July 4 on the field of Greenville High School’s Tiger Stadium. Starting at 7 p.m., guests can expect live entertainment and lively patter from local radio hosts David Norrell and Kyle Haynes of Q-94’s Dave and Kyle Morning Show. The Posting of the Colors by Greenville High School’s JROTC is slated at 7:30 p.m.
Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce executive director Francine Wasden encourages everyone to come out and enjoy this year’s event. “This is a fun-filled night for the whole family,” Wasden said. “ Last year we only had the fireworks show because of the refurbishment of the football field taking place. This year we are bringing back fun and games for the children, and activities on the field everyone can enjoy.”
Festival foods and sweet chilled treats will be available for purchase during the event by Dixieland Concessions and Tastee Blizzard Shaved Ice.
Celebrate America’s always eagerly-awaited grand finale, an impressive fireworks show, will start at 9 p.m.
This marks Wasden’s 11th year participating in the event and she says it continues to grow each year. “This is one of our favorite events,” Wasden said. “People can sit in the stands or bring lawn chairs to the field for a great view of the fireworks show. Everyone is welcome—so put on your red, white and blue and join us for another fabulous Fourth in Greenville.”
