An argument that nearly turned deadly at Perdue Place has left one local teenager hospitalized and placed another behind bars Wednesday evening.
Jamoney Moore, an 18-year-old black male from Greenville, has been charged with attempted murder following the Greenville Police Department’s investigation into the shooting.
Authorities were dispatched to the Perdue Place area at approximately 7 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a shooting in progress, where they discovered an 18-year-old gunshot victim.
“He was transferred to a Birmingham hospital and is listed in stable condition,” said Greenville Police Department chief Justin Lovvorn.
Investigators were soon called to the scene of the crime and, after the collection of several pieces of evidence, a suspect was found and taken back to the Greenville Police Department for questioning.
“Investigations questioned the suspect at the police department, where he did admit to shooting at the victim,” Lovvorn added.
Several witnesses were also interviewed at the police department.
The information gathered led investigators to believe that the shooting occurred between two different groups of people who were arguing with each other, though authorities are still gathering information to determine the exact reason the argument began.
“The investigation will continue to determine if any other charges should be pursued,” Lovvorn said.
