The Fort Dale Lady Eagles softball team took to the diamond on Tuesday against the Monroe Lady Volunteers in a double header and lost both games by two points each time, 10-8 and 8-6.
After falling behind in the first game, the Lady Eagles fought back and gained ground but ran out of time before they could catch up. A double by Anna Blake Langford helped in that rally, but it was not enough.
The score in the second game bounced back and forth and stayed close throughout the game. The biggest jump came in the third inning when Monroe went ahead by three.
The Eagles were not able to overcome the deficit and lost 8-6.
The season standing for the Lady Eagles is 13-6.
In the second game, pitcher Anna Blake Langford faced 20 batters.
Alex Little singled; Cahley Acreman singled twice and scored twice; Anna Blake Langford doubled twice and scored three times; Ashley Brogden singled and doubled; Alex Moore, Shelby Vickery and Hannah Schofield each had two singles.
The Lady Eagles will travel to Monroeville on Tuesday, April 18, to face the Vols once again.
