Fort Dale JV squads unseat Senators

The junior varsity Eagles from Fort Dale Academy netted wins over the Senators of Morgan Academy in Selma on Tuesday night.
The junior girls enjoyed an easy game with a big win margin of 30-13. From the very beginning the Eagles led the way to victory; 11-5 in the first quarter, 20-6 at the half, 26-6 at end of third quarter and 30-13 at final buzzer. Kaylin Gregory was high scorer with 16 points, followed by Emma Jo Thomas, Hannah Sells and Cahley Acreman with 4 points each. Free throws hit the basket 2 out of 8 times.
Junior boys had to work a little harder for their win, but win they did by a score of 28-27 in a nail biter. They found themselves in a deep hole at the end of the first quarter but managed to claw within a one point deficit in the second and third quarters. By the final buzzer, the score flipped in favor of the Eagles when Brice Acreman hit a two point basket in the final seconds of the game for the win. High scorers were Brice Acreman with 8 and Davis Gaston with 6. The Eagles went to the free throw line 21 times but only managed to net 7.
