Mary Ellen Lowe

Mary Ellen Lowe, 85, of Venice, Fla., passed away Nov. 3, 2016. She was born Feb. 5, 1931 in Pittsburgh, Pa., and moved to this area in 1993 from Greenville, Ill. Mary Ellen worked as a service representative for the Social Security Administration at the St Louis, Mo., office. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Venice, as well as the Daughters of the American Revolution- Myakka Chapter, William Bassett Chapter, Colonial Dames XVIIC, Colonial Dames of America Chapter XXX, Venice on the Gulf Chapter Daughters of American Colonists, Kappa Alpha Theta- Sarasota Alumnae Chapter. She was also a member of the Venice Yacht Club, Flagon and Trencher, Fla., Farm Bureau, the Order of the Eastern Star, Highland, Ill., the SIU- Edwardsville Alumni Association and the Alleghany College Alumna Association.

She is survived her children, Cynthia Damon, and husband, Mikey, James Lowe and wife, Linda, and William Lowe Jr.; grandchildren, Joshua, Catherine, Deborah, Becky, Ryan and Jeremy; and great grandchildren, Camryn, Piper, Raegan, Sloan and Graylynn. She was predeceased by her husband, William Lowe, Sr. on March 29, 1987 and her son, Thomas Lowe on April 7, 2013.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday Nov. 18, 2016 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 790 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, Fla., 34285. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to the Cornerstone Hospice Foundation, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, Fla., 32778 or to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
