Crenshaw County to cast votes Tuesday

Next week, voters in Crenshaw County will have the chance to cast their ballots for the offices of President and Vice President, United States Senator, US Representative 2nd Congressional District, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Place No. 1, No. 2 and No.3, President of the Public Service Commission, Member of State Board of Education, District Attorney 2nd Judicial Circuit, District Court Judge for Crenshaw County, member of the Crenshaw County Board of Education District No. 2 and District No. 4.
“Since the 2000 election year, voter turnout has been on the rise for Presidential elections. I anticipate that trend to continue with the possibility of a record turnout next Tuesday,” said Crenshaw County Probate Judge Will Tate.
The voting precincts are in the following locations: Crenshaw County Courthouse, Harbin Farm Center, Rutledge Town Hall, Chapel Hill School House, Honoraville Fire Department, Danielsville Storm Shelter, Panola Storm Shelter, Highland Home Volunteer Fire Department, Petrey Community Center, Patsburg Election Building, Vidette Community Center, Glenwood Town Hall, Weed Storm Shelter, Brantley Community Center, Liller’s Store, Bush’s Store, Dozier Town Hall and Pleasant Home Church.
“I am responsible for testing machines and making sure they are ready on Election Day. This week I am distributing and testing voting machines for all of the precincts within the county,” said Elliott Jones, custodian of county elections.
“The precincts will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. next Tuesday. Also, the Commission has allotted money to build three new handicap access ramps at Vidette, Patsburg and Chapel Hill.”
The voter lists will be printed this Friday.
