A three-vehicle crash at 5:50 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, claimed the life of a McKenzie woman. LeAnn Marie Rodgers, 36, was killed when the 2001 Nissan Maxima she was driving was struck by a 2002 BMW before crossing the median and being struck by a 2017 Kenworth tractor trailer in the opposing lanes. Rodgers, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred on Interstate 65 near the 101 mile marker, five miles north of Evergreen. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
