Authorities are investigating a death at the Butler County Correctional Facility.

According to Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden, an inmate was found dead at the facility around 6 p.m. on Wednesday.  The inmate’s name is not being released at this time.

“There is a death investigation ongoing,” Harden said. “There’s nothing else we can say at this time.”

The investigation is being handled by the Covington County Sheriff’s Department.
