A recent study ranked Greenville as one of the top retirement spots in the state.
According to SmartAsset, a New York financial technology company, the Camellia City is the 10th-best place in Alabama to live for retirees.
The study rates cities by their tax friendliness, recreational and social opportunities for seniors, and availability of medical care.
Greenville ranked fifth in last year’s study, the first conducted by SmartAsset.
Wetumpka took top honors, while Guntersville, Jasper, Muscle Shoals and Andalusia rounded out to the top five.
