American Family Care and Baptist Health are expanding their partnership with the grand opening of a new facility in Greenville.
The AFC primary and urgent care clinic, which is located on Paul Stabler Drive, is the ninth to open under the partnership. Doctors at the clinic began treating patients on Monday.
“We’re excited to combine our medical experience and commitment to excellence with Baptist Health’s talented healthcare professionals as we work together to create a new benchmark for top quality medical care for the people of Greenville,” says Randy Johansen, president of American Family Care. “AFC was founded in Alabama and we are thrilled we can combine forces with another health care leader to serve area residents, saving them time and money.”
American Family Care and Baptist Health joined forces in 2014 to create AFC PriMed, a community-focused partnership offering urgent and primary care in the River Region.
AFC began with a single location in Hoover, Alabama, in 1982. The company has pioneered the concept of non-emergency room urgent care facility.
With its 2013 acquisition of the Doctors Express franchise, AFC is the nation’s leading provider of urgent care and accessible primary care, with more than 150 clinics and 500 in-network physicians caring for more than 2 million patients a year.
Baptist Health is the largest healthcare provider in the River Region with more than 500 physicians and more than 4,000 employees serving patients in Central Alabama.
All nine AFC PriMed clinics are designed, equipped and staffed to provide accessible primary care, urgent care, minor emergency treatment and occupational medicine. They use a high-tech approach, including digital X-rays, on site lab testing, state of the art diagnostics and electronic medical records.
The Greenville clinic will serve patients daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. No appointments are necessary.
