The Butler County Commission on Monday approved a loan of $10,000 to the Midway/Damascus Volunteer Fire Department.

The funds will be used to add a handicap accessible bathroom and an exterior entrance to the fire station.

“They applied for the grant but did not have the funds to pay for this work up front and then file for reimbursement,” said County Administrator Diane Kilpatrick. “The Butler County Commission voted in June of 2015, if the grant was approved, to front the monies up to $10,000 for this work.”
