The search for a Greenville man that was reported missing Monday is over.
According to Capt. Justin Lovvorn of the Greenville Police Department, Max Lamar Langley’s body was found in a wooded area near Glendale Avenue.
“The apparent cause of death was suicide,” Lovvorn said.
Authorities began a search for Langley on Monday after family members alerted police that Langley went missing sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Sunday and 1:30 p.m. on Monday from 778 Hardscramble Road.
Lovvorn said police were concerned for Langley’s safety due to his history of depression and a note that was found in the home.
Langley’s body was discovered at approximately 10:30 a.m. Tuesday near the area he was last seen.
“Officers were continuing to search the area around Mr. Langley’s last known location and located him several hundred yards into the woods,” Lovvorn said.
Langley was 61 years old.
